Compared to last week: Steers from 550 lbs to 699 lbs and 750 lbs to 849 lbs were steady to 2.00 higher, steers from 700 lbs to 749 lbs and 850 lbs to 899 lbs were 2.00 to 6.00 lower, heifers from 500 lbs to 749 lbs were 4.00 to 6.00 lower with instances of 10.00 lower, other weight classes not well compared. An active to very active market on all classes of feeder cattle, just an active market on the replacement heifers available for today auction. Several consignments offered buyers the opportunity to purchase multiple loads, with plenty of part loads and packages to make loads out of. Most of todays offering was home raised, long time weaned, fully vaccinated and clean haired. Several consignments of replacement heifers were met with lack luster enthusiasm. Large crowd for today auction with the usual group of order buyers and a few farmer feeders competing with internet buyers wanting to purchase cattle. Flesh conditions ranged from light fleshed hay fed cattle to moderate plus coming out of a grow yard. Next feeder sale is scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2025.
