Compared to last Friday steer calves from 500 lbs to 650 lbs were steady to 4.00 higher; steers 650 lbs to 900 lbs were generally steady to 4.00 lower. Heifer calves from 500 lbs to 649 lbs were mostly steady to 4.00 higher. Good to very good demand for today's offering of fully preconditioned long time weaned claves. The really green hay fed cattle that have been running out were met with better demand. Active to very active market for today's auction with lots of buyers on the seats and internet bidders. Flesh condition ranged from light fleshed hay feed cattle to moderate fleshed back grounded cattle. Mild winter weather with limited precipitation in the area has allowed cattle to gain exceptionally well and remain relatively clean. Several long strings today offered buyers the opportunity to purchase multiple loads of one owner cattle Plenty of part loads and packages made up today's sale offering. Next feeder sale will be in two weeks Friday, February 12, 2021. Enjoy the Black Hills Stock Show and stay safe.
