Compared to last week: Yearling steers and heifers not well tested due to the limited numbers. Yearlings were meet with good demand as the offering consisted mostly of tested open heifers and packages of steers. There was one long string of 1500 head of spayed yearling heifers which offered buyers multiple loads of one owner cattle. The yearling market was active with lots of buyer interest. Flesh conditions ranged from light to moderate plus as most of the cattle today were straight off grass. Steer calves from 450 lbs to 649 lbs were generally 3.00 to 4.00 higher. Only comparisons made on heifer calves were from 350 lbs to 599 lbs and they were mostly 2.00 to 4.00 higher. The majority of the calves were right off the cow and light fleshed. There was a lot of buyer activity in the seats and on the internet. The next feeder sale will be Dec 4th, a special all breeds calf and yearling sale. Next week is the annual Thanksgiving week bred cow, heifer, fall pair and weigh up sale. Happy Thanksgiving and stay safe.
