Compared to last week's yearling steers and heifers were 2.00 to 3.00 higher on a light test; steer calves from 450 lbs to 699 lbs were mostly 3.00 to 5.00 higher, heifer calves from 500 lbs to 649 lbs were generally 4.00 to 6.00 higher. Other weight classes not well compared. Very good demand for the yearlings offered today with many buyers competing for the available yearlings cattle. Good to very good demand for the calves offered today. The cattle remain in attractive flesh condition as the weather continues to hamper producers ability to get cattle to market. The sale remained strong from start to finish with several cosigners offering multiple loads of calves and yearling. Many part loads and packages allowed buyers to put loads together of similar types of cattle. Weather conditions continue to cause postponements of both calves and yearlings. Next feeder sale will be Wednesday, October 30th, expecting 5,000 or more high quality calves.
