Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the last sale, best test of the market was on yearling feeder heifers from 750 lbs to 850 lbs with those trading 2.00 to 10.00 higher. Few, fresh bawling calves in the run with most having spring time vaccinations. Not enough fresh calves for a market comparison. Demand was light to moderate. Almost all weights less than 700 lbs on steers and heifers were fresh bawling calves. Short supply of order buyers on the seats. Usually, the seats are full of farmer/feeder but those buyers are busy in the fields with fall harvest. Rain delays last week has put fall harvest behind and farmer/feeders are trying to put up high moisture corn and some still chopping in the local trade area. The next Monday sales will be in two weeks on October 19th.
