Market report for today's Special Bred Female and Pair sale: The auction opened with bred cattle and concluded with over 1,100 head of weigh-up cattle. First to sell were 16 baby calves by choice, ranging from $425 to $1,600. Pairs were in good condition with calves tagged to match. Fall-bred females calving August through September consisted primarily of black and black-white-faced offerings bred to black Angus bulls. Some producers brought cattle to town today to reduce pasture numbers due to short grass conditions. While the Sandhills region has received some rain, total precipitation remains below average. Next Auction Date June 18th Special Feeder Auction expecting 2000 head
