Compared to two weeks ago steers less than 700 lbs sold sharply higher on the day with several weights trading 15.00 to 20.00 higher. Over 700 lbs sold fully 8.00 higher. Most weights of heifers traded sharply higher like their brothers with several weights 10.00 to 15.00 higher, except 6 weights sold 3.00 higher. Demand was good to very good. Auctioneers had a fast chant throughout the sale as buyers bid at 1.00 to 2.50 dollar increments most of the sale. Buyers were there to gather inventory and to full-fill orders from customers. Internet was also active some of the day. Even though market news doesn't report slaughter cows at this sale a very active market was noted with a higher undertone on all classes of cows and bulls. Several cows of all ages went back to the county to be placed on feed. Saturday Jan 18th will be a special bred heifer and cow sale. Then on Monday Jan 20 will be a special calf and feeder auction.
