Compared to last week's artic blast sale, steers less than 800 lbs sold 3.00 to 8.00 higher, with 8 weights steady on the day. Heifers less than 700 lbs sold 4.00 to 9.00 higher with 7 weight heifers 15.00 higher on the day. Demand was moderate to good throughout the large sale on Thursday. Buyers somewhat selective throughout the day. Some backgrounded cattle displayed a little tag from the recent snow. Some cattle running out on cornstalks and getting a little supplementation still appeared fairly light fleshed as they came out of the brutal cold last week. Nice crowd of buyers on the seats with some internet buyers on the day. CME live cattle boards closed the day in the black with March through July corn trading 11 to 13 cents lower. Few feedlot sales traded 2.00 lower at 313.00 on dressed sales.
