Compared to last week steer calves under 650 lbs sold 10.00 to 20.00 higher and heifer calves sold unevenly steady, instances 10.00 higher on 550 weights. No recent test on the handful of yearlings in the run. Demand was good throughout the sale from start to finish for the 7th Anniversary sale . Actually some of the small packages at the end of the sale brought the top of the market in some weight classes as buyers were trying to finish out pot loads. Bulk of the run was bawling calves with a couple consignments of short weaned calves and yearlings. Almost the whole run had precondition shots and some had a booster vaccination and poured. Several ranchers sold only steer calves on Tuesday and will develop their heifer calves, sort and sell sometime after the first of the year. Next special calf and feeder sale will be in two weeks on Nov 4th.
