Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Trend not applicable, first reported sale in three weeks. Demand was good for calves and bred cows. Most lots of calves suited for summer turnout. Majority of the heifers carried a bangs clip incase someone was wanting to place a bull with them this summer. Majority of the calves were light fleshed as they had been running out on fresh air, sunshine and what Mother Nature provided for them to eat in winter grazing pastures. Bulk of the bred cows will start calving in March with a few starting in May. Good crowd of buyers on hand on a cold snow day along with active internet buying. Next sale will be March 1.
