As filed

First reported sale of the late summer marketing period, no recent price comparison available. Very good demand for this nice offering of yearling steers and heifers, off grass, and a couple of consignments of spring born calves. There were plenty of buyers on the seats actively bidding, as there were some long strings of yearlings offered, in full loads and multiple load lots. The market was active in spite of the downward trending CME Live and Feeder Cattle futures. The feeder cattle market is lower than it was throughout the summer, as the futures contracts have pulled the cash fed cattle and feeder cattle market down to it's levels. Flesh condition was light to moderate, grass was pretty powerful this summer, and it showed, as some cattle carried a little more flesh, while others were in that highly desirable light flesh condition. Next feeder sale will be in two weeks, Sept. 12, 2024 for the customer appreciation special yearling sale.
