Market not reported last week, no recent price comparison available. Very good demand for this large offering of preconditioned, attractive steers and heifers. The vast majority of this week's cattle were long time weaned, but even those that weren't weaned still very met with plenty of demand. There were many long strings, while also plenty of smaller consignments that allowed buyers plenty of selection to put together full loads. Flesh condition was attractive overall, many in a very desirable light flesh to make yearlings out of. Best demand for this class of cattle remains on straight black hides as yearling operators want to have uniform cattle to sell in the fall. There were full loads of feeding type steers, flesh on these cattle were moderate to moderate plus and the market was active. Replacement worthy heifers were met with very good demand. Higher Live Cattle and feeder cattle futures, along with lower corn helped to support the market at the auction yet an impending snowstorm to the east, where many cattle are shipped, were causing some issues with truck availability.
