Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Only 1 reported auction this week, very few feeder cattle offered for sale making it difficult to make actual dollar comparisons, steady to higher undertones evident. Moderate to good demand for yearling steers and heifers, most were right off grass in an attractive light flesh and offered in full loads. The market was fairly active for these grass cattle as the futures market has risen higher from last week's levels as has the cash fed cattle trade. Cattle producers are currently focused on finishing small grain harvest, which has resulted in few cattle being offered for sale.
