Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Current hog receipts 7; prices ranged 65.00-85.00 per cwt.

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady to 2.00 higher; there were too few slaughter bulls to establish an adequate market comparison. Feeder steers and bulls were mostly steady to 6.00 lower, while heifers were mostly 1.00 to 3.00 higher. Demand, market activity, and buyer interest were mostly moderate. Offerings of cattle were fairly light due to many producers being in the hay fields. Cattle quality was average. Baby calves ranged 10.00 to 35.00 per head.
