Today, Public Auction Yards hosted the 22th annual Montana Angus Female Bonanza. Demand was very good for moderate offerings. Todays sale consisted of high quality, uniform, commercial Angus bred heifers and young cows. Market activity was very active with many buyers on hand from all over the country as well as on the internet and phone actively bidding on offerings. Very good demand was seen for AI bred offerings. All heifer offerings were A.I. bred to Angus herd sires or natural serviced to high quality sons of popular Angus herd sires. Most AI bred heifers were set to calve in tight windows of 2-3 days and all pasture bred heifers and cows calve in 2 cycles or less. Demand for April calving heifers was very good as ranchers opted to pay premiums for heifers they can calve when the weather is more favorable. Cows and heifers were in light to moderate flesh condition. All AI heifer offerings were sorted for the sex of the calf, with all purchases tagged for sex. Pasture bred heifers were sold as mixed sexes. All cows were sold as mixed sexes. A limited offering of open fall heifers were offered as well. Demand for open replacement heifers was very good. 3rd trimester calve through Feb 18th 2026, 2nd Trimester calve from Feb 18th- May 22 2026, 1st trimester calve after May 22nd 2026.
