Compared to last week (6-23-26): Feeder cattle were all too lightly tested to develop any market trend. Feeders were scarcely tested and mostly offered in small groups or as singles. There were not enough feeders for buyers to build loads. Quality this week was mostly average. CME feeder cattle positions were lower today, with all contracts showing over a $3.00 loss. Weigh up cows sold on moderate to good demand for light offerings. Feeding cows sold mostly 3.00-4.00 lower on all classes. Quality this week was mostly average to attractive. Weigh up conditions were mixed today. Fleshy cows were particularly full as many were hauled in this morning. Fewer feeding cow buyers were on hand for todays sale as lighter receipts were seen. Slaughter cows were too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however lower undertones were noticed on all offerings. Slaughter bulls sold mostly 3.00 to 6.00 lower. Feeding bulls were scarcely tested this week as most offerings were purchased for immediate harvest. Bull quality this week was average to very attractive. Young age cows were too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however lower undertones were noticed. Quality this week was mostly average to attractive. Fewer takers for this class of cows was seen this week which allowed prices to slip lower after higher movement the last few weeks.
