Compared to last week: Steer calves all sold 5.00-10.00 higher in a narrow comparison. Heifers under 550 lbs sold mostly 5.00 higher, heifers over 550 lbs sold steady to 5.00 higher in a narrow comparison. Quality this week was average to attractive. Most calves were offered in small to moderate size packages this week. No load lots were seen this sale. Demand started the sale mostly good to very good but waned as light offerings made it difficult for multiple buyers to start loads. Market activity this week was mostly active. Weigh up cows sold on light to moderate demand for moderate offerings. Demand for feeding cows was moderate to good with several buyers actively bidding on offerings. Feeding cows sold generally steady. Slaughter cows sold steady as well as packer buyers purchased cows for the shortened holiday week. Slaughter bulls sold generally steady as feeding buyers showed good demand for bulls and forced slaughter bull buyers to buy near steady with last weeks prices. Demand for bred cows was mostly light to moderate. Quality was mostly plain to average this week on bred cows. Young age cows suitable to feed or rebreed sold fully steady.
