Compared to last week: Steers and heifers were all too lightly tested to develop any market trend. Demand was mostly moderate for very light offerings. Quality was mostly plain to average. Market activity was moderate. Weigh up cows comprised most of the sale this week. Packers were very active in bidding on cows this week. Packers purchased the majority of the cow offering for immediate harvest. Several packages of very attractive young offerings were purchased by packers to feed. Slaughter cows sold generally steady on breaking and boning cows, lean cows sold 2.00-4.00 higher. Feeding cows sold generally steady. Slaughter bulls sold 3.00-4.00 lower. The cutter cow cutout continues to inch higher. As of this morning the cutter cow cutout was 224.45. Weigh up conditions were mostly in buyers favor as most cows offered buyers above average weigh conditions. Young age cows suitable to feed or rebreed were too lightly tested last week to develop a full market trend, lower undertones were noticed.
