Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers were both too lightly tested this sale to develop any market trend. Quality this week was mostly plain to average and offered in mostly small packages, or as singles. Demand was mostly moderate for very light offerings. Rain fell across the region with many locations picking up a half inch. This helped improve demand for grass cattle this sale. Market activity was mostly moderate. Weigh up cows comprised the majority of the sale again this week. Cow quality this week was mostly attractive to very attractive. Weigh up conditions were mixed, however the majority of the offering was average to above average. Packers showed mostly moderate to good demand for slaughter cows as this was the last opportunity to buy prior to the 4th of July holiday. Slaughter and feeding cows both sold generally steady. Slaughter bulls sold fully steady, however bull yields were higher compared to last week. Young age cows suitable to feed or re-breed sold mostly generally steady in a narrow comparison. Young cow quality this week was mostly average.
