Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to 8.00 higher with most of the gain on a nice offering of 500-700 lb steers. Demand was good for a moderate supply. A good portion of the feeders were long time weaned cattle coming off grass in an attractive condition and the remainder was new crop calves with some weaned and some not. Typical early October weather is going to make it tough on calves this week with warm days and cool nights. Cattle futures saw big gains on Tuesday. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 2.00 lower.
