Compared to last week steers and heifers sold unevenly steady with spots 5.00 higher on some of the mid weight cattle and spots 5.00-8.00 lower on the calves under 450 lbs. Demand was moderate to good for a moderate supply. The run consisted of mostly calves with several short or un-weaned but some of the highlight consignments came in 45 days plus weaned and fully vaccinated. Cattle futures have seen two days down hard for the first time in awhile and with large numbers of cattle moving, it' starting to create a slightly negative tone despite overall positive fundamentals. Another large run of slaughter cows sold steady with the last reported market two weeks ago.
