Compared to last week, steers traded steady to 5.00 higher and heifers sold steady. The quality of the cattle offered was very good throughout the day with mostly weaned and vaccinated calves making up a moderate supply. Demand was good. Market fundamentals feel stable and feeder buyers have confidence in the market moving forward with tighter number of market ready cattle, increased cow slaughter and good demand for beef. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower.
