Compared to last week, steers sold unevenly steady from 5.00 higher to 5.00 lower and heifers sold steady to 6.00 lower. Demand was mostly moderate, but light for heifers over 600 lbs. Supply was moderate. Quite a few long weaned cattle were offered in light flesh but the overall quality wasn't as attractive. Buyers were a little more cautious this week as fed cattle are beginning to back up as the slaughter volume has slowed which leaves unknown consequences for the future. Slaughter cows sold 2.00-5.00 higher.
