Compared to the last reported sale 3 weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers sold mostly 10.00 to 40.00 higher with most of the gains in the weight classes from 300 to 550 lbs. but the heavier weights did see upward trends as well. As mentioned today, the cattle pens and lots were filled starting on this past Monday through today with all home raised home grown feeders from consignors as they took advantage of mild weather for a January here in the Midwest. Over 3000 calves and yearling went through the sale ring with very strong demand from the buyers on a heavy supply. Slaughter cows and bulls traded mostly steady from the previous report.
