Compared to the last reported sale four weeks ago, steer calves traded unevenly stead, yearling steers and all weights of heifers sharply higher. Slaughter cows 2.00 to 5.00 higher. The cattle market is still all systems go with feeder prices continuing to climb and fed cattle expected to trade higher again this week. As usual, the yearling trade was the highlight of the day at the local barn, with prices far surpassing even the loftiest expectations. It's hard to select just a few stick out prices on a day like Tuesday was, but In particular, five loads of steers from Rockin' R Farms and one from long time reputation backgrounder Jim Landrum reached some truly jaw dropping totals, all dollaring up from roughly 2700.00-2850.00 per head. Truly unprecedented dollar figures at a time when new highs are set almost daily. Supply moderate, demand very good.
