Compared to the last sale two weeks ago, steers under 650 lbs sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Heifers sold mostly 10.00 to 15.00 higher, spots as much as 25.00 higher on light 5 wt heifers. Slaughter cows 2.00 to 4.00 higher. The big story coming out of the local market this week, per usual, was the yearling trade and it did not disappoint. Looking back four weeks to a more accurate comparison, yearling load lots traded fully 15.00 higher and were spread out across multiple buyers this week which isn't often the case. Supply moderate, demand good to very good.
