*CLOSE* Compared to last week, steers calves sold 2.00 to 5.00 lower. Heifer calves sold 10.00 to 12.00 lower with the exception of 400-450 lb heifers steady to 4.00 lower. No recent price comparison on yearlings. Sale highlight this week was one load of steers weighing 947 lbs at 131.00 and a load of 959 lb steers at 127.00. Demand moderate to good. Futures are sharply higher today with support starting very early in the day with the front 5 Feeder Cattle contract months being limit higher at one point. REMINDER: The St Joseph Stockyards will not hold a sale on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. USDA-MDA Livestock and Grain Market News wishes everyone a safe and happy Independence Day.
