Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the last reported sale two weeks ago, feeder steers under 600 lbs 10.00-20.00 higher, few over 600 lbs 3.00-5.00 higher. Feeder heifers firm to 6.00 higher. Slaughter cows steady. Demand good to very good. Supply light. Strong demand for several packages of front end steer calves weighing 475-575 lbs which may be a peak at what's around the corner as more high quality, preconditioned calves are marketed over the next 45 days. Hopes for a higher fed cattle trade this week took a hit as cattle futures sold off on Wednesday and beef cutout values also lost ground.
