Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers 450-600 lbs 5.00-15.00 higher with other weights steady to 3.00 higher on a light test. Feeder heifers near 500 lbs 3.00-6.00 higher with other weights steady to firm on a light test. Slaughter cows steady to 3.00 higher. Demand very good. Supply light. Less numbers and condition in the feeders this week but still mostly good quality. With the very tight numbers, buyers are taking hold of the increasing number of unweaned calves under 525 lbs with little if any discount unless they are very young and soft. Cow sale following the feeders was highlighted by a nice consignment of black/bwf third period bred heifers.
