Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers and heifers 4.00-8.00 higher on a limited market test. Slaughter cows steady. Demand good to very good. Supply light. Not a lot of feeders to be had in the area and less urgency to move them now with about everyone having gotten some rain. The feeder market continues to get stronger with much higher fed cattle prices over the past week adding fuel to the fire. Some nice replacement cows and pairs also found increased interest.
