Coordinated by: Northeast Missouri Beef Cattle Improvement Association in cooperation with Missouri Show-Me-Select Heifers, Inc, University of Missouri Extension, MU College of Veterinary Medicine, Missouri Cattlemen's Association, and Missouri Department of Agriculture.

All Heifers in the sale have met minimum standards for reproductive soundness, pelvic size, body condition and weight. They have also undergone a comprehensive health program, and were guaranteed bred to easy calving bulls, with many synchronized and artificially bred. Projected calving dates were given for all lots with the heifers expected to calve from January thru April, with the majority due in February and March. The offering was screened for blemishes, muscle thickness, frame, body condition score (BCS), and disposition by a final screening committee comprised of official graders from the Missouri Department of Agriculture and USDA, then sorted into lots

according to calving dates and body type similarity.

It was a cold and windy day on the outside, but these days all it takes is a cattle auction to heat things up inside. A good crowd was on hand, and they had a chance to buy some of the top-of-line replacement heifers from some of the best cattle producers in Northeast Missouri. The bulk of the heifers sold from 4200.00-4900.00, but several packages brought over the 5000.00 mark, up to a top of 5600.00. The sale average on the 304 head was 4545.00 per head. That was 946.00 per head higher than the December 2024 sale.
