Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold 3.00-12.00 higher. Steer calves under 650 lbs. sold 14.00-18.00 higher. Heifer calves under 700 lbs. sold 4.00-12.00 higher. Demand was good on a moderate supply. The largest draft of the day was 109 head of 982 lb. steers which brought 278.75/cwt. The most impressive quotes of the day came on the Video Auction where Jolly Farms sold two loads of 600 lb. steers for 399.00/cwt. and one load of 500 lb. steers for 445.50/cwt. Hay harvest is behind schedule, due to the excessive amounts of Spring rain, but expectations are for above average yields. Pasture conditions continue to be excellent.
