Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to 6.00 higher and heifers were steady to 3.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves under 700 lbs. were uneven from 6.00 lower to 6.00 higher. Demand was good and improved throughout the day. The supply was heavy as those waiting for the market to peak took last week's "key reversal" as a sign to bring calves to town. The quality of the offering was above average with several large packages of unweaned and short-weaned calves coming across the scale. The largest draft of the day was 198 black-hided steers weighing 607 lbs. that brought 376.00/cwt. The largest heifer draft was 81 head weighing 664 lbs. that sold for 304.00/cwt.
