Compared to last week, steer calves under 600 lbs. sold 8.00-12.00 higher with heavier weight steers selling steady to 5.00 higher. Heifer calves under 650 lbs sold 3.00-6.00 higher with spots 12.00 higher. Heavier weights heifers were not well tested. Demand was good on a moderate supply. The largest draft of the day was 44 head of 745 lb. steers that brought 270.00/cwt. Another stick-out draft was 28 head of 839 lb. steers that brought 250.00/cwt. The first significant Spring rain fell across the area this past weekend with reports of 2-7 inches, helping to relieve some drought conditions.
