Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were 5.00-7.00 lower. Steer and heifers calves were uneven from 5.00 lower to 5.00 higher with the gain on long-time weaned and vaccinated calves. Demand was moderate on a moderate supply. The largest draft of the day was 224 head of 888 lb. mixed steers which brought 238.00. Their slightly heavier weight brothers, that sold three and four weeks ago, brought 231.50 and 235.50 respectively. The USDA's Cattle on Feed report came out last Friday and reported Inventories were 2 percent lower, Placements were 5 percent lower and Marketings were 6 percent lower, which would be considered bullish and came close to what the analyst had predicted. The Cattle Futures Markets were down sharply on Tuesday with some months on the Feeder Cattle Contracts down over 5.00 and some Live Cattle Contracts months down almost 3.00.
