Compared to last week, steer calves were 3.00-6.00 higher and heifer calves were steady to 4.00 lower. Yearling steers and heifers were steady, in a light test of the market. Demand was good on a moderate supply. With cooler nights arriving in the Ozarks, bawling calves are seeing much larger discounts which are expected to become even larger through October. Demand was very good for calves weaned over 60 days with two or more rounds of shots.
