Compared to last week, long time weaned and vaccinate steer and heifer calves traded 3.00-5.00 higher while short-weaned or unvaccinate calves traded 5.00 lower. Yearling calves were not well tested. Demand was good on a light supply. A hard freeze across the area this week has ended the growing season, however warmer temperatures forcast for the weekend will keep calf health on a roller coaster and in need of a good health program. Receipts were lighter than expected with mostly calves in the offering while a slightly smaller amount that sold through the video auction were mostly yearlings.
