Compared to last week, steer calves under 450 lbs. traded 15.00-20.00 higher while heavier weight steer and heifer calves traded steady to 4.00 higher. Feeder steers and heifers were not well tested however undertones were steady to firm. Demand was very good on a moderate supply. Buyers outnumbered sellers most of the day including a few buyers that have been missing in action for several months. The Cattle on Feed Report released Friday reported Inventories were 1 percent higher, Placements 2 percent higher and Marketings 4 percent lower. Placements were higher than the estimates, keeping Feeder Cattle Futures lower to begin the week. Live Cattle Futures traded mixed on Tuesday as Corn Futures traded sharply higher. Last week's negotiated Fed Cattle prices on 102k head averaged 146.88 which is the highest weekly average since 2015.
