Compared to last week, steer calves under 450 lbs traded 3.00-6.00 higher while heavier weights traded unevenly steady. Heifer calves traded steady to 4.00 higher with some pee wee weights 10.00 higher. Demand was good on a moderate supply. A bullish Cattle on Feed report, with Inventories down 5 percent, Placements down 23 percent and Marketings up 13 percent, was negated by slower chain speeds and closed processing facilities. Fat cattle cash prices continue to trend downward as record prices are being set for box beef cutout values, with Choice and Select cuts 71.00/cwt higher than a week ago.
