Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls traded steady. Demand was good on a heavy supply of slaughter animals and a moderate supply of bred cows. One-half to three inches of rain fell across the area this week which helped some ponds, but much more is needed. The USDA's Cold Storage Report, released last week, reported beef in freezers was up 2 percent from the previous month and up 17 percent from a year ago.
