Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the last reported sale of two weeks ago, slaughter cows traded 6.00-8.00 higher while slaughter bulls traded 3.00-6.00 higher. Demand was very good on a moderate supply of slaughter animals and a light supply of replacement cattle. Stocker and feeder cow buyers are finding it difficult to compete with the slaughter cow buyers as demand for ground beef continues to increase. Receipts were lighter than normal due to the muddy conditions as last week's snow, sleet, and ice thaws with daytime temperatures in the 50's and 60's.
