Demand was very good on slaughter animals and good on replacement cattle. The supply of slaughter animals was moderate while the supply of replacements was light. The USDA's Cold Storage Report released last week reported that Beef in storage was 3 percent higher than last month and 6 percent higher than a year ago. The USDA's Semi-Annual Cattle on Feed Report, also released last week, reported all cattle on feed was unchanged for the first half of 2020 when compared to the same period last year and the calf crop was down 1 percent.
