Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, slaughter cows traded 2.00-4.00 higher while slaughter bulls traded 3.00-5.00 higher. Demand was good on a heavy supply of slaughter animals and a moderate supply of bred cows and pairs. USDA's Cold Storage Report released last week shows beef in storage was 1 percent higher than the previous month and 4 percent higher than a year ago. With ground beef flying off grocery shelves almost as fast as TP, processors are scrambling to fill the void, resulting in much higher prices and demand for slaughter cows and bulls.
