Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the last sale two weeks ago, steers sold 1.00 to 5.00 higher, except for lightweight grazers trading with a sharply higher undertone. Heifers mostly steady. Slaughter cows steady to 3.00 lower. The beef sector as a whole has enjoyed a remarkable year and the local cash market ended 2024 on a high note, with several extra buyers in the seats and good demand for all weights and classes. Optimism seems to be at or near an all time high even as many express concern about where a market top might be found. Supply moderate, demand good.
