Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, steers sold 10.00 to 12.00 lower and heifers weak to 6.00 lower. Slaughter cows steady. Very few weaned cattle in town again this week with a higher percentage lacking a health program and plenty of flesh on the majority of the offering. After a pretty positive performance earlier in the week, CME cattle futures turned sour again Thursday ahead of Friday's Cattle on Feed report. Early sales held their ground relatively well but by mid afternoon buyer participation turned sluggish and prices declined throughout the day. Supply moderate, demand light to moderate.
