Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, steers and heifers under 700 lbs sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher with no real test for heavier cattle. Slaughter cows 2.00 to 5.00 higher. All weights and classes benefitted from the stronger market with grazing cattle again leading the way with the full 10.00 increase. Good grazing expectations along with the prediction of tight numbers are driving those light calves even without a lot of support in the distant cattle contracts. Supply moderate, demand good to very good.
