Compared to last week, based on light comparisons, steers and heifers sold with a firm to higher undertone. Demand was good for a moderate supply. Cash fed cattle sold higher last week which led to cattle futures being supportive and with grass close and warm weather, buyers are trying to finish up their grass orders with the last few hard weaned cattle available. A large variety was on hand with some nice groups of wean/vac cattle but then also several unweaned calves with the males still intact. Slaughter cows sold steady to 3.00 higher, but a good portion of the cows are headed back in the country if they are bred or fit to feed.
