Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, there were too few calves and yearlings for an accurate trend, however the undertone was lower. Not only have feeder cattle seen significant losses on the board since last week's sale but the current weather forecast is not very favorable to receive a short weaned or un-weaned calf. Rain on Thursday morning kept receipts down and supply was light. Demand was moderate to light in spots on the higher health risk cattle. Slaughter cows sold 2.00-5.00 lower on a below average offering except for flesier cows selling steady.
