Compared to a light test last week, steers and heifers sold firm to 6.00 higher. The quality of the calves took a step up this week and the market followed suite with a few extra buyers in the seats to push prices. Demand was moderate to good on a moderate to heavy supply. There's some optimism in the market as fed cattle have gained several dollars the past few weeks and are trading from 131.00-132.00. Slaughter cows sold 3.00-4.00 lower as large number of cows have been making their way to town and are starting to back up.
