Compared to a light run from last week, steer and heifer calves sold firm to 5.00 higher. However, the majority of the sale consisted of several loads and packages of yearlings but there have been no recent sales to compare to for a price trend, the undertone was higher. Some really high quality cattle were on offer and found very good demand on the yearling side, posting some prices not seen for awhile as market fundamentals look promising. The better quality calves that were on a health program saw moderate to good demand. With the wet,cold weather, the un-weaned or lesser quality cattle sold with light to moderate demand. Supply was heavy. Slaughter cows sold steady.
